UCMe digital identity cards
Turn every introduction into a next step.
UCMe gives you one simple page people can scan, tap, save, share, and use to contact you. It replaces the “here are five different links” conversation with one clear, useful experience.
A short reason to connect with you.
What do you want your first card to do?
You do not need every feature. Start with the job your card should perform most often.
A simple personal card
Use your name, a clear title, one sentence about what you do, and three useful links. Share it by text, QR, or NFC after meeting someone.
- Start with: photo, phone, email, short bio
- Add: website, profile, and one important destination
- Optional: lead capture when you want a response
A client-conversion card
Make the next business step obvious. Add your offer, booking link, lead form, and only the links that help a prospect decide or act.
- Use Open Offer for your main service or campaign
- Add Book a Meeting for scheduling
- Enable lead capture and an automatic reply
A connection and care card
Use the card to help someone take one next step: connect with your community, request prayer or care, watch a message, or contact a leader.
- Lead with a welcoming one-sentence purpose
- Link only the most useful community destinations
- Use custom lead questions for prayer, care, or interest
An event-specific card
Create a focused card for the event, then enable Event / Expo Mode so visitors see the event name, your booth or room, and one event-specific call to action.
- Download the card QR for signs, badges, or handouts
- Ask one useful custom follow-up question
- Review and export leads immediately after the event
A curated portfolio card
Show people your best work instead of every account you own. Keep the top links current and use Open Offer for the project, release, or collaboration you are promoting now.
- Use a strong social preview image
- Put your best three destinations first
- Use a booking or follow-up action for collaborations
Launch in about five minutes.
Check off each step as you complete it. Your progress is saved in this browser.
Understand every part of your UCMe dashboard.
The dashboard is your control center. It tells you whether your cards are available, how many card slots your plan includes, and what you can do with each card.
Status at the top
“Ready to share” means at least one card is live. “Setup needed” means you still need to create a card or resolve the account or plan condition keeping it inactive.
Plan capacity
The capacity display shows cards used, the maximum allowed by your plan, and how many open card slots remain. A card slot is one separate public card experience.
Dashboard totals
Cards is the number you created. Live is the number visitors can currently open. Available is the number of additional cards you may create.
Your cards
Each card tile shows its label, headline, public address, image, and live or inactive status. Use separate cards when the audience or desired next step changes.
What each dashboard button does
Opens the four-step editor. Use it to change the image, identity, contact details, settings, links, lead form, event information, and sharing destinations.
Opens the Share Center so you can copy the card link, text or email it, send it through WhatsApp, show or download its QR code, copy an email signature, or review NFC instructions.
Opens the public card exactly as another person sees it. Always use View after editing so you can test the full visitor experience.
Copies the permanent public card address. Paste it into a text, email, profile, website, chat, social bio, or printed QR generator.
Shows card views, shares, contact saves, captured leads, date and status filters, CSV export, and individual lead records.
Permanently removes the card after confirmation. Links and printed QR codes pointing to that card will no longer provide the card experience, so delete only when it will not be reused.
Creates another card when your plan has an open slot. A new card is useful for a different business, ministry, event, campaign, audience, or role.
Appears when every card slot is used and an upgrade path is available. Upgrading allows additional distinct cards; it is not required to keep editing existing cards.
Do not create a new card for every conversation. Create a new card when the audience, identity, organization, message, or primary action is meaningfully different.
Header menu and compact card tools
Returns to the main card-management screen.
Opens this Learning Center. On tablet the header may show icons only; on mobile it opens as a full-screen menu.
Jumps directly to the Your Cards section on the dashboard.
Some United City pages may show a smaller UCMe panel with your QR, public address, Share, Copy link, and Download .vcf actions.
A field-by-field walkthrough of creating and editing a card.
The editor is organized into Photo, Details, Links, and Ready. Changes are saved when you finish the Links step, so complete the workflow before leaving.
Photo
Choose the recognizable image people should associate with this card.
Details
Set the identity, contact information, card behavior, leads, events, email, integrations, and privacy.
Links
Choose the United City and custom destinations visitors can open.
Ready
Preview, share, save, copy, or return to the dashboard after publishing.
Step 1: PhotoProfile image and recognition
Current profile image
UCMe starts with your United City profile image when available. This makes initial setup faster and keeps your identity familiar across the ecosystem.
Change photo
Uploads a JPG, PNG, or WebP specifically for the card. Use a clear headshot, logo, ministry image, or event-facing identity that still looks good as a circle.
Use UC Profile Image
Restores the current image connected to your United City profile. Use this after testing a custom card image or when your profile picture has been updated.
Step 2: Basic card detailsIdentity, purpose, contact information, and offer
Card label
Names the card so you and visitors can distinguish it, such as Main, Business, Ministry, Speaker, Portfolio, or Expo. Keep it short and audience-friendly.
Promotion URL
Adds the Open Offer action and an Offer QR code to the public card. Use it for a current service, product, registration page, donation page, resource, campaign, store, or featured opportunity.
Title & Company
Explains your role and organization in one line. Good examples are “Financial Coach at Example Group” or “Community Care Director.”
Short bio
Tells visitors who you help, what you do, or why they should reconnect. One or two short sentences are easier to scan than a full biography.
Phone
Places the phone number into the downloadable contact file. Only add a number you intend to share with anyone who receives the card.
Contact email
Places the email address into the downloadable contact file and identifies where visitors can contact you. It may be different from the email sender used for automatic messages.
Essentials settingsAppearance, booking, and NFC behavior
Card template
Changes the visual presentation. Modern Default is general-purpose; Ministry supports community and care; Business emphasizes professional use; Speaker / Expo is suited to presentations and events.
Accent color
Sets the card’s visual accent. Choose a color with enough contrast to keep buttons and highlights readable.
Booking URL
Adds Book a Meeting to the public card. Paste the full link to Calendly, FluentBooking, Google appointment scheduling, or another booking page.
NFC destination URL
Leave this blank for normal use so an NFC tap opens the UCMe card. Enter another URL only when the physical NFC card or sticker should intentionally open a different destination.
Lead Capture settingsCollect responses and acknowledge visitors
Capture follow-up leads
Adds Want a follow-up? to the public card. Visitors can submit their name, email, phone, message, consent, and any questions you add.
Custom lead questions
Adds one question for each line. Ask only what improves the next conversation, such as interest, organization, requested service, prayer need, preferred follow-up time, or event topic.
Automatic follow-up email
Sends an immediate acknowledgement when the visitor supplied an email address. Use it to confirm receipt, repeat the next step, and reassure the person that you will respond.
Auto-reply subject
The email subject the visitor sees. Keep it specific, such as “Thanks for connecting at the Community Expo.”
Auto-reply body
The message sent after submission. You can use {name} to personalize it and {card_url} to include the live card again.
AI follow-up helper flag
Marks the lead for an AI-assisted workflow when your organization has connected one. It does not send a response by itself and should not replace your review of the lead.
FluentCRM SyncSend card leads into the appropriate contact workflow
When to use it
Enable FluentCRM when submitted leads should automatically enter a CRM list or campaign. Each card can point to the CRM site that owns that audience.
Site URL and credentials
Enter the CRM site and the access values supplied by the site administrator. These settings are for connecting the card, not information visitors will see.
List and tag IDs
Use the list and tag values provided by the CRM administrator to organize the contact. Multiple values can be separated by commas.
Per-card routing
A business card can route to a sales list while a ministry or event card routes to a different list, tag, campaign, or United City subsite.
Email SenderUse your own branded mailbox for UCMe lead emails
Use my own email sender
Applies the mailbox only to lead notifications and automatic replies for this card. Turn it on when the messages should come from your organization’s email account.
From name
The person or organization name displayed in the recipient’s inbox.
From email
The sending address. Most providers expect this to match the authenticated mailbox or an address that mailbox is authorized to send as.
Reply-to email
Where a reply should go. This can be a shared team inbox even when another mailbox sends the message.
SMTP host, port, and encryption
Use the exact values supplied by your email provider. Common combinations are TLS with port 587 or SSL with port 465, but the provider’s documentation is the authority.
Username and password
Use the mailbox login or provider-issued app password. Many providers reject the normal account password when multi-factor authentication is enabled.
Send test email
Tests the values currently entered in the form. Do not rely on custom sending until the test succeeds and the message reaches the expected inbox.
Saved password behavior
When editing an existing card, leave the password field blank to keep the saved credential. Enter a new value only when the password or app password changed.
Event / Expo Mode settingsAdd temporary context and an event-specific action
Enable Event / Expo Mode
Adds an event banner, displays the event context, makes an event CTA available, and associates captured lead activity with the event name.
Event name
Use the recognizable conference, expo, campaign, gathering, appointment, or activation name.
Booth / room
Adds the physical place where the introduction happened, such as Booth 12, Hall B, Prayer Room, or Workshop 3.
Event location
Adds the venue, campus, city, or online-event context.
Event CTA label
Names the temporary action visitors should take, such as Get the Expo Guide, Join the Giveaway, Request a Demo, Register, Donate, or Watch the Session.
Event CTA URL
The full destination opened by the event CTA. Test it before displaying or printing the event QR.
SEO & Privacy settingsControl previews, search visibility, and public information
SEO title
Controls the browser and supported social-sharing title when you need wording different from your visible name.
SEO / social description
Provides the short explanation that supported services may show when the card link is shared.
Social preview image URL
Selects the image supported platforms may show beside the link. Use a public image address with a clear, wide preview.
Hide from search engines
Requests that search engines not index the card. The card remains accessible to anyone who has the URL, so this is not a password or private-access feature.
Public information reminder
A UCMe card is designed to be shared. Only include phone numbers, email addresses, images, links, and descriptions that you are comfortable making available to people with the link.
Step 3: Your linksUnited City destinations and up to 12 custom links
United City links
UC TownSquare, UC Vision, and an available UC Partner Page can be prefilled from your account. Use each Show toggle to decide whether that destination appears on this card.
Partner Page choice
When more than one eligible partner destination exists, choose the one that matches this card’s audience or organization.
Custom links
Add Website, LinkedIn, Instagram, Pinterest, X / Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Email, or Other destinations. Enter the complete address and test it from the public card.
Link order
Put the destinations most likely to help this audience first. A focused card usually performs better with three to five strong choices than with every link you own.
Add a link
Creates another platform-and-URL row until the card reaches its custom-link limit.
Remove a link
The × control removes that row from the editor. Finish the step to save the updated link list.
Step 4: ReadyPublish, test, share, and return
Share my card
Opens the full Share Center for messaging, email, WhatsApp, QR, email signature, NFC, and contact-saving options.
Save card to phone
Opens the Save Card Center so the live page can be kept on the phone for later use.
Copy card link
Copies the live page address for pasting anywhere.
View my card
Opens the finished public experience. Test every QR, action, link, form, and event destination before sharing widely.
Back to dashboard
Returns to card management after the card has been saved.
What visitors see—and what every public-card feature is for.
The public card is the experience behind your link, QR code, and NFC tap. It is designed to help someone remember you and choose a useful next action.
Offer, Share Card, and Save Contact QR codes
The Offer QR appears when a Promotion URL exists. Share Card opens the live page. Save Contact opens the downloadable contact. Tap to zoom a QR when someone needs to scan it from your screen.
Event banner and event CTA
When Event Mode is active, the card shows the event name, booth or room, location, and the temporary event action.
Image, label, name, title, and bio
These elements help the visitor confirm who they met and why the connection matters. The card label also distinguishes cards when more than one is available.
Save Contact
Downloads a .vcf contact file containing the public phone and email details. The visitor then confirms saving it in the phone’s contact app.
Share Card
Lets the visitor send the card to themselves or another person without manually copying the address.
Save Card
Helps the visitor keep the complete live page, including future updates to links and content. This is different from saving only the phone and email as a contact.
Want a follow-up?
Appears when Lead Capture is enabled and opens the visitor response form. Submitted information is available under Activity & leads.
Open Offer
Appears when a Promotion URL exists and directs the visitor to the current product, service, resource, campaign, donation page, or opportunity.
Book a Meeting
Appears when a Booking URL exists and opens the external scheduling page.
United City and custom link buttons
Open the profiles, websites, social channels, videos, portfolios, communities, and other destinations selected in the editor.
Swipe carousel and dots
When your account has multiple available cards, visitors can swipe between them. The dots indicate the number of cards and the currently selected card.
Connect or join prompt
Eligible visitors may connect with you inside the associated United City community. Visitors who are not members may see an invitation to join or create their own card.
An inactive public card shows an availability notice instead of its normal actions and links. Return to the dashboard to review the account, plan, or setup condition affecting it.
Choose the sharing method that fits the moment.
The same live card can be used in person, remotely, on printed material, inside email, or with an NFC product. You do not need a different card for every sharing method.
Send the card to someone
Copies the public URL for any app or document.
Starts a text message containing the card address. Best immediately after an in-person introduction.
Starts a new email containing the card. Add a personal sentence explaining why you are sending it.
Opens a WhatsApp share message for contacts or groups.
Displays a scannable code on your device for another person to scan.
Saves an image for signs, slides, badges, brochures, tables, booths, displays, or printed handouts.
Copies a simple signature-style card link you can paste into a supported email-signature editor.
Shows the address to program into a compatible NFC card or sticker. Test the NFC item with more than one phone before relying on it.
Downloads your .vcf contact file instead of the full live card.
Help someone keep the live experience
Uses the best available save or install behavior on the current device. Android may show an install prompt; iPhone users are guided through Add to Home Screen.
Open the card in Safari, tap Share, choose Add to Home Screen, and confirm Add.
Starts a self-directed text so the card can be found later from messages.
Lets another device scan and keep the card.
Provides the standard contact-file option when the person mainly wants your phone and email.
Saving the card keeps the same live page. When you change its content later, the saved card opens the updated version.
The person mainly needs your phone number and email inside their contacts app.
The person should keep your links, offer, booking page, event context, or future card updates.
Many people need the same destination or the card needs to appear on a physical or visual surface.
You share the card repeatedly in person and want a quick tap experience.
Understand what happened after you shared the card.
Activity & leads combines high-level engagement counts with the contact records submitted through the card’s follow-up form.
How many recorded times the public card was opened. A view does not guarantee that the visitor read the whole page.
Recorded openings or uses of the card-sharing experience. Use this as a directional engagement signal rather than a promise that every recipient opened it.
Recorded Save Contact actions that opened the downloadable contact file.
Completed follow-up requests submitted through this card.
Search and filters
Finds records by the visitor information and content available in the lead list.
Filters leads by whether CRM delivery synced, failed, is pending, was skipped, or was not configured.
Limits the results to a meeting, event, campaign, or reporting period.
Applies the current search, status, and date choices.
Downloads the currently filtered lead data for a spreadsheet, reporting workflow, or permitted follow-up process.
What to review and do next
Use the submitted email or phone only for the purpose the visitor agreed to.
Use this context to make the response relevant instead of sending a generic follow-up.
When Event Mode was active, use the event name to remember where the introduction occurred and which offer or CTA was shown.
Permanently removes that record after confirmation. Export or transfer anything you are required to retain before deleting it.
Review soon
Open Activity & leads after a meeting, event, campaign, or day of networking while the context is still fresh.
Respond with context
Reference the event, conversation, question, or requested next step.
Record the outcome
Use your approved CRM or follow-up process so the relationship does not depend on memory.
Improve the card
If views are high but actions are low, simplify the message, reduce links, or make the primary benefit clearer.
Practical ways to use UCMe in real situations.
Start with the audience, decide what they need next, and remove anything that distracts from that outcome.
Replace “find me online” with one clear page.
Use a friendly photo, role, short bio, phone, email, and three important links. Share by text or QR while you are still together.
- Primary action: Save Contact
- Optional: Want a follow-up?
- Best sharing: text, QR, NFC
Move an introduction toward a qualified next step.
Use the Promotion URL for the main offer, Booking URL for scheduling, and a short lead form for the prospect’s need.
- Primary action: Open Offer or Book a Meeting
- Lead question: What outcome are you looking for?
- Optional: CRM sync and branded auto-reply
Help someone connect, participate, or request care.
Use welcoming language and direct links to the community, prayer or care request, events, messages, giving, or a leader.
- Primary action: community or care destination
- Lead questions: prayer, care, interest, preferred contact
- Best sharing: personal conversation, welcome desk, event QR
Present your strongest work instead of every account.
Use a strong preview image, keep the best work first, and use the offer or booking action for collaborations, commissions, or appearances.
- Primary action: portfolio, release, store, or booking
- Links: YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, website
- Best sharing: social bio, email, events, QR
Let the audience act before the session ends.
Place the downloaded QR on the final slide. Use Event Mode for the session title and an event CTA for notes, a resource, booking, or feedback.
- Primary action: download resource or book speaker
- Best sharing: presentation QR and stage screen
- After: export leads and disable temporary CTA
Turn booth traffic into organized follow-up.
Enable Event Mode, display the QR at eye level, use one event-specific offer, and ask one useful qualifying question.
- Primary action: demo, guide, giveaway, registration, or purchase
- Best sharing: sign, badge, counter display, NFC
- After: filter by event dates and follow up promptly
Keep one temporary message separate from your everyday identity.
Use another card slot or Event Mode for a launch, fundraiser, volunteer drive, seasonal service, or community initiative.
- Primary action: campaign destination
- Privacy: consider noindex for link-only campaigns
- After: update, disable, or remove expired messaging
Use separate cards so each audience sees the right identity.
Create one card for personal networking and another for each role that has different contact details, links, CRM routing, offer, or tone.
- Use clear labels so visitors can distinguish cards
- Test the swipe carousel on mobile
- Do not duplicate cards that have the same purpose
Common problems and the first things to check.
Most issues are caused by an incomplete URL, an unsaved editor step, device-specific save behavior, account availability, or credentials supplied by another service.
My card says inactive.
Return to the dashboard and review the Live count, status pill, plan capacity, and any account or membership notice. Editing the card does not override an account-level availability condition.
My latest changes are not on the public card.
Complete the editor through the Links step and select Finish. Then open View in a new tab and refresh the public card.
A link does not open correctly.
Use the full address, including https:// when appropriate. For email links, select Email and enter the intended email destination. Test every link from the public card rather than only from the editor.
My QR code opens the wrong place.
Confirm whether you downloaded the card QR, contact QR, or offer QR. Each has a different purpose. If an NFC destination was customized, it may also differ from the normal card URL.
Save Card behaves differently on iPhone and Android.
That is expected. Android browsers may offer an install prompt. On iPhone, open the card in Safari and use Share → Add to Home Screen.
Save Contact downloaded a file instead of saving automatically.
The .vcf file is the standard contact file. Open the downloaded file and confirm the save inside the phone’s contacts app.
The follow-up button is missing.
Edit the card, open Lead Capture, enable Capture follow-up leads, finish the editor, and test the public card again.
The lead form receives few responses.
Explain the benefit of responding, ask fewer questions, make the desired outcome specific, and mention the form during the conversation. A button labeled by context often performs better than a vague request.
The SMTP test fails.
Recheck the provider’s host, port, encryption, username, and app-password requirements. Make sure the From Email is authorized for that mailbox. Use the detailed test response to determine whether the failure is connection, encryption, or authentication related.
A lead did not sync to FluentCRM.
Open Activity & leads and filter by CRM status. Confirm the correct CRM site, credential, list values, and tag values with the CRM administrator, then test a new lead.
Event Mode is still showing old event information.
Edit the card, update or disable Event / Expo Mode, finish the editor, and refresh the public card. Printed QR codes continue to open the same card and will show the new information.
The social preview still shows an old image or description.
Confirm the SEO title, description, and public preview-image URL, then allow time for the receiving service to refresh its cached preview. The visible card can update before a social platform refreshes its stored preview.
I reached my card limit.
Continue editing and sharing existing cards, delete a card that is truly no longer needed, or use the available upgrade path to add capacity. Do not delete a card while printed QR codes or NFC items still depend on it.
What happens after someone opens your card?
The public card should answer three questions quickly: who are you, why should I remember you, and what should I do next?
They open it
From a text, email, QR scan, website link, or NFC tap. They do not need to install an app.
They understand you
Your photo, title, short bio, and focused links explain who you are and what matters.
They choose an action
They can save your contact, save the full card, share it, request follow-up, open an offer, or book a meeting.
You continue the relationship
Review activity and leads, export your records, and follow up while the conversation is still fresh.
Save Contact
Downloads a standard contact file (.vcf) that opens in the phone’s contacts app.
Save Card
Helps them keep the live UCMe page, including your current links and future updates.
Share Card
Shares the public card URL through the phone share sheet or UCMe Share Center.
Want a follow-up?
Opens your lead form so the visitor can send their contact details and a message.
Use the sharing method that fits the moment.
The card URL is the main asset. Every sharing tool is simply a convenient way to deliver that same live page.
Share or text
Best for one-to-one conversations. Send it while you are still together so they can open it immediately.
Best moment: after an introductionShow or download QR
Best for signs, slides, printed handouts, badges, tables, booths, and situations where many people need the same card.
Best moment: groups and printed materialsNFC card or sticker
Program the NFC item with your UCMe card URL. A compatible phone tap opens the card.
Best moment: repeated in-person useEmail signature or copy link
Best for ongoing digital visibility. Add the live card to email, profiles, websites, and messages.
Best moment: remote and everyday sharingYou can update the content behind your card later without reprinting the QR, as long as you keep using the same card URL.
Event / Expo Mode turns a normal card into a temporary event tool.
Use it when the context matters: a conference, vendor booth, church gathering, speaking engagement, campaign, networking night, or appointment. It keeps your normal identity while adding an event-specific reason to act.
- An event banner with event name
- Booth, room, and location information
- One event-specific call-to-action button
- Event context on captured leads and click activity
Prepare one clear outcome
Enter the event name, booth or room, location, and the one action visitors should take. Download and test the QR.
Make scanning effortless
Display the QR at eye level, keep your CTA specific, and invite visitors to send their information through the follow-up form.
Follow up and reset
Open Activity & leads, export or sync contacts, follow up promptly, then turn Event Mode off or prepare it for the next event.
CTA: “Get the event resource guide” → a campaign page, form, product, community, or signup.
Know what every option is for — and when to use it.
Use the tabs to explore. Start with Essentials and Growth; the integrations can wait until you have a clear workflow.
Card label
The short name that distinguishes the card in your dashboard and on the public card, such as Main, Business, Ministry, Speaker, or Expo.
Headline and bio
Explain what you do and why someone should remember you. Keep the headline direct and the bio to one or two short sentences.
Links
Add up to 12 destinations. Put the most important actions first and avoid making the visitor hunt through unnecessary choices.
Open Offer
A prominent destination for the product, service, resource, campaign, or opportunity you are currently promoting.
Book a Meeting
Connect a Calendly, FluentBooking, Google appointment, or other scheduling page.
Multiple cards
Create separate cards when audiences need different messages or next steps. Your plan controls the number of available card slots.
Lead capture
Adds the “Want a follow-up?” button so a visitor can send their name, email, phone, and message.
Custom questions
Ask only what improves your response, such as interest, organization, best time to call, or prayer need.
Automatic reply
Send an immediate acknowledgement after someone submits the lead form. Include your card URL and set expectations for follow-up.
Activity & leads
See views, shares, contact saves, and captured leads. Search, filter, export CSV, or remove records.
Email sender
Optionally send lead notices and automatic replies through your own domain’s SMTP account.
AI follow-up flag
Marks leads for AI-assisted follow-up when a compatible UC AI workflow is connected. It does not replace your review.
Event name
The context visitors recognize, such as a conference, campaign, gathering, or appointment.
Booth / room
Helps a visitor remember where they met you and makes the card useful during a busy event.
Event location
Adds the venue or city to the event banner for more context.
Event CTA
The one event-specific next step: register, download, donate, shop, join, watch, or request information.
Event analytics
UCMe records event CTA clicks and keeps event context with captured lead activity.
When to turn it off
Disable Event Mode when the temporary banner or CTA is no longer relevant. Your normal card information remains.
FluentCRM sync
Sends captured leads from this specific card to the FluentCRM site, lists, and tags you configure.
Per-card CRM connections
Different cards can send contacts to different businesses, ministries, campaigns, or subsites.
SMTP test
Use Send test email before relying on your custom sender. App passwords or SMTP AUTH may be required.
NFC URL
Usually the normal UCMe card URL is best. An advanced custom NFC URL can be used when your tap should open a different destination.
Theme and template
Adjust the visual accent while keeping the card clean and readable.
SEO title and description
Controls browser and social-sharing context when you need wording different from the visible card.
Social preview image
Choose the image people see when the card link is shared on supported platforms.
Hide from search engines
Use noindex for private-purpose or temporary cards that should be shareable by link but not discoverable in search results.
Public information
Anything you place on the public card can be viewed by someone with the link. Only publish contact details you intend to share.
Card status
The dashboard shows whether the card is live and available to visitors. Access and plan conditions may affect availability.
You can safely ignore these until you need them.
A useful UCMe card only needs a clear identity, contact information, and a few links. Advanced settings solve specific workflow problems; they are not required for launch.
Use when leads must automatically enter a CRM list or campaign.
Use when lead emails should come from your own branded email account.
Use when search visibility or social preview control matters.
Use only when your organization has connected the supporting UC AI workflow.
The value comes from the follow-up loop.
A digital card is not finished when it is shared. Use activity to improve the card and leads to continue the relationship.
Review
Open Activity & leads after an event, campaign, or important meeting.
Respond
Contact people promptly and use their message or custom answers for context.
Improve
If people view but do not act, simplify the bio, links, or call to action.
Reuse
Keep the same card current, or create another card when a new audience needs a different message.
What a new UCMe user usually wants to know.
Does the other person need a UCMe account or app?
No. A live UCMe card opens as a normal mobile-friendly web page. Some community connection features may invite a person to join, but viewing, saving, and sharing the card do not require an app.
Should I put every link I have on the card?
Usually no. Include the destinations most useful to this card’s audience. Three to five focused links are often easier to understand than a long list.
What is the difference between a card label and my public name?
The card label helps you identify the card in your dashboard. Your public identity comes from your profile and the details shown on the card.
Can I change the card after I share or print the QR?
Yes. The card is a live page. Update its content and anyone using the same card link or QR will see the current version.
When should I create a second card?
Create another card when the audience, message, organization, or next action is meaningfully different. Examples include personal vs business, ministry vs consulting, or everyday vs event-specific.
Is my contact information private?
The public card is designed to be shared. Any phone, email, bio, or link placed on it should be information you are comfortable making available to people with the URL.
Do I need Event Mode for every event?
No. Use it when the event name, booth, location, or temporary CTA adds useful context. For a casual gathering, your normal card may be enough.
What should I do if nobody submits the follow-up form?
Make the reason to respond specific. Replace a vague request with a clear benefit, ask fewer questions, and mention the form while speaking with the person.
What is the difference between Open Offer and Event CTA?
Open Offer is the card’s ongoing promoted destination. Event CTA is temporary and appears with Event / Expo Mode context. Use the event CTA for the event-specific action and Open Offer for the broader continuing offer.
What is the difference between my contact email and SMTP From Email?
The contact email is public and is placed in the downloadable contact. The SMTP From Email is the mailbox used to send UCMe lead notices or auto-replies and is not automatically shown on the card.
Will an old printed QR still work after I edit the card?
Yes, when it points to the same live card URL. The QR opens the current version of that card. A QR will stop being useful if the card is deleted or becomes unavailable.
Can I use one physical NFC card for UCMe?
Yes. Program it with the normal UCMe public card URL unless you intentionally need another NFC destination. Test it on multiple compatible phones after programming.
Why can visitors swipe between my cards?
UCMe presents available cards from the same account as a mobile carousel. Use clear card labels and distinct purposes so visitors understand the difference.
What should I include in an automatic reply?
Thank the person, confirm that the request was received, repeat the expected next step or response time, and include the card link when useful. Avoid promising an immediate response unless you can deliver it.
Does hiding a card from search engines make it private?
No. Noindex asks search engines not to list it, but anyone with the URL can still open it. Do not place confidential information on a public UCMe card.
Should I delete an old card or repurpose it?
Repurpose it when existing QR codes, NFC items, or shared links should continue working for the same general audience. Delete it only when the card and all dependent materials are no longer needed.
Build the simple version first.
A clear card used consistently creates more value than a perfect card nobody shares.
Your card is a live next-step page.
It combines a digital business card, contact saver, share page, QR destination, link page, and optional lead form. You decide which parts matter for each audience.
Give each card one job.
A “Main” card can be broad. A Business, Ministry, Event, or Portfolio card should speak to that specific audience and lead to a specific action.
Build the essentials before the extras.
Start with a recognizable photo, clear title, one or two sentences, contact details, and your three best links. That is enough to publish a useful card.
Know the three main actions.
Use Event Mode only when context helps.
Turn it on to show the event name, booth or room, location, and one temporary CTA. After the event, review leads and turn it off or update it.
Share, review, improve, repeat.
Use your card in one real conversation, then review what happened. UCMe becomes valuable through consistent use and timely follow-up.
